MONTANA, IDAHO & NORTH DAKOTA – HOW MUCH AUTO INSURANCE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Based in Butte, our Independent Agents understand your auto insurance needs.  Auto insurance requirements vary by state. In most states, to drive a vehicle, the owner must carry a minimum level of liability coverage to pay for losses that you may have caused to others.

OPTIONAL COVERAGES INCLUDE

  • No-fault coverage — to pay you and your passengers for medical and related expenses caused by injuries from a car accident, regardless of who is at fault, MedPay can extend to you and your family if injured as a pedestrian by another vehicle.
  • Uninsured / Under-insured Motorist Liability — to pay you for the losses caused by someone else who is not insured or whose insurance limits are exceeded. This is also known as UM/UIM.
  • Rental Reimbursement — Covers the cost of a rental car if your car is not drivable due to a covered loss. Usually, it has a per day and total expense limit.
  • Loan / Lease “GAP” coverage — Extends the limit of payout of a total loss to help cover a loan. Called GAP or Total Loss coverage when sold by a dealership, it is coverage that is often much less expensive from your auto insurer than from a third party.

FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE

To finance a car, it is usually necessary to have insurance which covers damage to your vehicle. Often called Full Coverage, this includes:

Collision Insurance
Collision insurance coverage pays for damage caused to your vehicle in an automobile accident. Collision coverage usually also comes with an insurance deductible. It’s how much you pay toward repairs before your collision insurance kicks in. The higher the deductible you’re willing to pay, the less the collision coverage will cost. This coverage is limited to the fair market value of your vehicle, unless special riders are available and chosen, such as “New Car Replacement” or “Agreed Value”.

Comprehensive Insurance (Other than Collision)
Comprehensive insurance covers damage done to your car in some way other than a collision, such as if it were stolen or vandalized. Hitting an animal and windshield damage are usually covered by comprehensive car insurance. Like collision, comprehensive will pay up to the fair market value of your car. And although it’s not legally required by any state, you will probably need it if your car is financed.

MONTANA, IDAHO & NORTH DAKOTA

Whether you own or rent, insuring the place you call home can help protect you financially if you suffer a loss due to fire, theft, vandalism, or other covered events. It will also cover you in the event someone is injured while on your property and wins a legal judgment against you.

Homeowners policies differ by which losses are covered, which coverages you choose, and what type of residence you own. You choose which policy is best for you, whether it’s a comprehensive policy or it’s a policy that covers only a few specified losses.

Rocky Mountain Insurance is here to help you find the right insurance for your home.  Whether you own your home, live in a condo, are a renter, or even a landlord, Rocky Mountain Insurance will work with you to find a home insurance policy that fits your needs at the best possible price.

Your home insurance policy consists of the specific options you want and need, so how much you’ll pay for your policy depends on:

  • What you select.  Oftentimes homeowners insurance options are priced individually, so how much you’ll pay for your policy depends on what coverages you buy.
  • How much you want to cover.  Higher deductibles usually lower your premium price by shifting part of the loss payment to you. For example, if you have a $500 deductible, you would be responsible for paying the first $500 of the covered loss.
  • Where you set your limits. You may choose to set higher limits than the recommended amount if appropriate to your situation and needs.
  • Discounts that you qualify for, such as payment history or home and auto coverage in the same place.

Protection for You and Other People

Personal Liability Coverage protects you from legal judgments if someone is injured or their property is damaged and you are to blame. The coverage generally applies anywhere in the world.

  • When choosing your liability coverage limits, consider things like how much money you make and the assets you own. Your personal liability coverage should be high enough to protect your assets if you are sued.
  • Worried you aren’t completely covered? Consider an umbrella insurance policy that extends your coverage to as much as $5 Million.
